NorState FCU Offers Eight $1000 Scholarships
AROOSTOOK COUNTY – NorState Federal Credit Union has awarded scholarships to local high school seniors to assist with higher education costs for more than 30 years. The number of scholarships has increased during this time, with the last two years awarding eight $1000 scholarships to the best qualified recipients. “NorState Federal Credit Union is pleased to continue its practice of awarding scholarships to students in our membership area,” stated Mark Johnson, SVP Strategy and Performance. “As a lifelong educator, I recognize the value of education in unlocking the potential in all of us, and I am pleased that NorState is helping to make higher education more attainable for promising students. I look forward to seeing what our awardees accomplish and can bring back to our communities.”
The 2024 scholarship application is now open. Any student who is an active NorState FCU member, has been accepted to an institution of higher education and attends a high school in Aroostook and Northern Penobscot counties can apply for one of eight $1000 scholarships to be awarded this coming June. Applications are available online at norstatefcu.org. Attaching supplemental information is encouraged. The deadline to apply is May 13, 2024.
